About Gavin Fleck
As a student in the combined B.S. Mechanical Engineering and M.S. Aerospace Engineering program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), I am driven to bring my creativity and technical skills to an innovative and impactful workplace.
Key Experiences & Skills:

Aerospace Engineering & Manufacturing: As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Epic Aircraft, I standardized surface prep diagrams for 355 parts, modeled AC insulation in SolidWorks, updated rivet countersink tolerances, and revised component drawings with supporting structural analysis to prevent corrosion.

Humanitarian Engineering & Research: For my Interactive Qualifying Project in Cape Town, South Africa, I co-authored a research paper and worked with a team to design and implement vertical gardens and irrigation systems to address food and water scarcity in the Maitland Garden Village community.

Technical Skills: I am proficient in CAD (SolidWorks/Onshape), Python and MATLAB, composites work, fluid dynamics, and professional/research writing.
Outside of my academic and professional work, I am a dedicated collegiate pole vaulter and an avid backpacker, skier, and rock climber. I am eager to contribute my hands-on experience and passion for problem-solving to a new engineering challenge.
